spiderman color sketch (thanksgiving sketching series)

Original pencil drawing here
Around the time when I initially drew this sketch in my sketchbook, I had just received a wacom pen and tablet, so I decided to experiment with photoshop. Having never digitally painted before, getting this sketch to this level of completion was very time consuming. Although I was happy with the way it turned out, I know there is still room for a lot of improvement.

Spiderman (thanksgiving sketching series)

Spiderman has always been my favorite marvel character to draw, and this is one of the many sketches of him. I started this sketch in my morning class, then kept working on it in between classes throughout the day. with sketches like these, I usually don't use photo reference. I was greatly inspired by comic book artist Gabriele Dell'Otto's pencil sketches while I was doing this. Some of Dell'Otto's artwork can be found here. look him up...his stuff is great.
